Spring St
One of the interesting
highway quirks in Columbus. There are two different bridges there!
Looking south, you see this quadruple concrete arch
bridge
From the top of the Spring St bridge. Nothing spectacular,
nor any plaques commemerating it's completion.
But if you look north, it's an entirely different view.
Blasee concrete piers!
It is my surmise that the
EB bridge (non arch) was completed as part of the Long St extension
as part of Spring-Sandusky part 1, back in the early 1960s, after
the WB bridge was completed. This is the only occurance I've come
upon of two different bridge designs for one span.
