Winter St. Bridge
The follow are several photos I've taken of the current
Winter St. Bridge in Delaware. The old bridge was closed to both
vehicles and pedestrians for almost
four years
(1983-87) till Delaware city decided to replace it. It took a
year for construction and once completed, was dedicated as the
above name.
Unlike recent bridges built in the last 5 years, when
the Winter St bridge was rebuilt, they used the old brick bridge
supports.
For whatever the reason, on the outside of the pedestrian
barrior, the concrete is grooved like a comb went through it before
it dried. None of the other bridges in Delaware are like this.
